It's been a while, but I still help out on greenspot from time to time. Here's one of the Halloween backgrounds. (Copyright wonderhill 2010 all rights reserved)

There Dragons Be!

Excuse me for a moment. All IMAGES IN THIS POST ARE COPYRIGHT WONDHERHILL 2010. You can't repost them or use them.

Finally, finally. The game, the endless game has launched. It's not over, but at least now other human beings can see it. During these last few months I have fulfilled a dream - a dream in which I was an artist who drew armor clad videogame characters and dragons. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am a secret dork.

Also, as lead, I had to design the look of the UI. I kept hoping that a magic fairy in the form of a UI artist might appear out of nowhere and do it for me. Unfortunately, we don't have any of those, so I had to crack at it myself. I think it looks okay... but it was my first time so I'm sure in a year I'll find it embarrassing.
You can check out the UI and spend hours and hours waiting for things to finish building over on facebook here.
Thanks to all the Whill artists for your awesome animation, art, feedback, ideas and hard work!
Thanks especially to Rosie, the other concept artist on this project. You're the best!

If you'd like to see more, check back later. I'll post more art in the coming days.

TIny Windows

I am so done with this one. Millions of tiny windows are not good for my brain. Next stop, APE!

Underwater Tower

Here's my next piece in the series. It was basically an excuse to draw submersibles.

Even more pencil

Here's the next installment for my series. I haven't settled on a name for it yet, but I'll be showing them all together and selling prints at the Alternative Press Expo in SF in october. I'm working like crazy trying to get them done!

Hopefully I'll be able to post some of my new professional work too. But, as usual, the game is taking forever!

more pencil

For the last couple of months, Rosie and I have been cranking away on a project for WonderHill that has required most of our time, even on the weekends. We're very close to launch, so I can't post anything yet. In the meantime, I have squeaked out a couple of drawings. This one I drew on the plane to Vancouver.

More to come in a couple of weeks. Get ready for something different!

Fairy Rescue BGs

More backgrounds (that are copyright WonderHill 2010 all rights reserved.) These are from another game I art directed, Fairy Rescue, (playable on facebook here. Warning. ADDICTIVE.) It makes me feel better to post these since I totally overestimated the amount of space that would be visible in the game, so all those flowers got cut out.

Pencils W.I.P.

I'm still working on this one. It's almost there.

Anybody remember pencils?

Some time in December, I realized that I miss pencils. I decided to make a series of drawings painstakingly rendered, millimeter by millimeter, with a 2B mechanical pencil.

Nerd-ish Nite

Last night I gave a talk at Nerd-type-Nite - an event where bay area nerds talk to other nerds about what they do for a living. I mentioned a couple of things that people wanted to know more about. Specifically, the tablet I work on (digitally) is called a cintiq. This is NOT affiliated with www.nerdnite.com, which I don't think I would qualify for anyway since I am so intimidatingly cool.

http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/index.php?gclid=CJ2C58je4J8CFRFbagodHWj7Ww - You can find more about it here.
and the nifty color tool to which i referred can be downloaded somwhere around here for free.

Also, if you want to paint at home, Artrage is great, and at 80 dollars, totally cheap.
